JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. — The Nolan Wells missing case has ended in tragedy after authorities discovered a body believed to be that of the 18-year-old on Horn Island Monday morning, following an extensive search involving multiple rescue agencies.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a park ranger found the body around 8:45 a.m. on the northwest side of Horn Island. Officials believe the remains are those of Nolan Xavier Wells, although DNA testing will be conducted to make a formal identification.
Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd said investigators currently have no reason to believe the body is anyone other than Wells, while Sheriff John Ledbetter confirmed that the description matches the missing teen.
